Synopsis
 Codango Labs recently took Openads (http://www.openx.org/) version 2.4 for a spin and really got a ride. For starters, we were impressed with the slick installation wizard. We were also impressed with comprehensive reports (with enough information to keep most publishers busily optimizing their ad campaigns). We found that adding banners in all the industry standard formats such as basic text to more advanced types such as Flash with click tracking was a cinch. Above all and most importantly, when we had a problem, the community was there to answer any questions or concerns we had. After testing for SQL injection vulnerabilities and other security areas, we found that Openads’ security was rock solid. Openads was not missing anything that we would deem as necessary for an effective ad management application, but if we could have our cake and eat it too, we would ask for two additional features. The first would be an advertiser self serve interface and the second would be a payment-processing module. Features like this would push the envelope in this application category. All-and-all, Openads makes a great choice for just about any sized website. Read the full review for all the nuts and bolts.
