Codango Labs FAQ
What Is Codango Labs?
Codango Labs is the name of our facilities and team that do in-depth testing and formal reviews of web applications and other resources found in the community. They have the enviable job of being able to play with the latest and greatest stuff before we all get our grubby little hands on them.
What Does Codango Labs Do?
We randomly pick web applications from the community, install them on a test box, test their features, test their GUI, analyze their code for ease of integration, test their security, and finally test their level of user support. During this process we write a formal review of what we find and rate each aspect of the experience on a scale of 1 to 10.
How Many Lab Reviews Will You Be Doing?
If James, our Website Content Editor, can keep all our reviewers on schedule, we hope to put out about 3 in-depth Lab Reviews per month (1 for PHP, 1 for ASP.NET, and 1 for ASP) starting in July. If that doesn’t happen, you can take that up with our man James.
Who Are The Reviewers?
Our reviewers are a hand-picked set of professional web developers from around the world who work for Codango Labs to do formal evaluations of web applications and other resources. You’ll eventually know these guys/gals by name and probably have your favorites too. By the time our site comes out of Beta, we hope to have profiles posted for each of them.
Do You Favor Advertisers?
Heck No!! If an advertiser were to request special treatment, we would ban them from our website. We abide by a strict code of ethics. We maintain complete separation between our reviews and our advertising and let the chips fall where they may. Some companies may not advertise with us as a result, but as far as we see it, this just opens the door for better companies to rise up and take their place. When we let the natural laws of the market play themselves out, everyone wins: bad companies go away, good companies rise to the top.
