Efficient tracking tradeoffs Written by Anonymous User (#1511-276) from Naples, FL (Thursday, November 29, 2001)

Strengths: no comment Weaknesses: no comment Details: Pretty nifty - has allowed me to make more $ on my site by showing effectiveness of links to relevant external sites.
Text file output vs a more sophisticated DB system to me is a plus: redirection and tracking places minimum load on the system, and chances of a failure for user to clickthrough are near zero; The online reader with filter criteria is all I usually need, but I do import the tracking data to an Access DB for further analysis some of the time. |
Output into text file Written by Anonymous User (#1893-256) from Buchs, Switzerland (Thursday, July 20, 2000)

Strengths: no comment Weaknesses: no comment Details: This tracker only outputs to a text file. If that's what you need, fine. But for serious work, you need to be able to run real queries, without having to import the data into a DB first. |
ASP Hyperlink Tracker Written by Anonymous User from London, UK (Tuesday, February 29, 2000)

Strengths: no comment Weaknesses: no comment Details: Anyone wishing to track where their visitors go from their web site should buy this. It's good for both banners and hyperlink text. It creates a text file which I import into Access which allows me to run queries, generate stats etc. All for just $10! |
