Excellent tool for the Posting Acceptor. Written by Anonymous User from Houston, TX (Sunday, August 08, 1999)
 |
Strengths: no comment Weaknesses: no comment Details: We are using the Posting Acceptor to allow a centralized way for users to share files. This will allow managers of each department to do some file management and take that burden away from the IS staff.
It is certainly a better tool than just allowing Directory Browsing. By placing it in the sub-directory for posting, the rest of the site is not visible to the users. |
Neat but pretty useless. Written by Anonymous User from Watertown, NY (Monday, July 26, 1999)
 |
Strengths: no comment Weaknesses: no comment Details: This is interesting code, but I highly doubt your web hosting company is going to assign you the file permissions necessary for this work on your entire site. Good idea but the permissions needed cause security risks and unless you have direct access to your server this isn't going to do you any good. |
Good start Written by Anonymous User from Glasgow, UK (Tuesday, June 29, 1999)

Strengths: no comment Weaknesses: no comment Details: This is a good start - I've had to expand mine to include create/delete folders, and create files, and I'm soon going to add a file upload facility, but this saved an awful lot of work. Well recommended.
Make sure you get your permission set up right as well!
