Synopsis
No one likes getting hit… unless you’re a webpage. And if you are a webpage you’ll even want to know how many times you’re hit and you might even feel bad if you don’t know. We tested ASP Stats Generator (http://www.weppos.com/) to see if it can tell you, effectively and efficiently, who’s hitting your pages. We found that the data presentation is good, and both the application and the full source code are available for the price of this review… nothing! With this simple but effective tool, you can not only understand how your website is being utilized in several different languages, but you can somewhat customize data presentation to suit your needs. Unfortunately we would have like to have seen a few additional features, like the ability to get data for a range of dates or some additional information on visitors (e.g. connection speed). In addition to these gripes, the support is almost non-existent and security isn’t well implemented. Overall, we found that if you’re going to use this web app for tracking an Internet website, rather than an intranet site, you could end up disappointed.
